Dumoulin brothers

“We want to increase the population’s awareness while also giving back to the community. If we work together, much like racing teams do, we can dream of being victorious and until then, give hope to people with cancer.”
Professional racing drivers Jean-François and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin have been stalwart supports of the Quebec Cancer Foundation for many years now. No wonder, when you learn that cancer touched their loved ones when they were mere children.
“Our great-uncle Laurent-Jules got cancer when we very young and it had a profound impact on us. We would go play cards with him, to distract him while he faced this terrible disease. There was also our aunt Huguette and our friends Geneviève and Lyne. As a loved one, the overflowing emotions and all of the questions about cancer and its impact are some of the hardest things to deal with. As serious competitors, we find it important to stand alongside those diagnosed with cancer and who find themselves facing the unknown while looking for answers.”
Attuned to the Foundation’s mission of supporting Quebecers with cancer through a multitude of support and companionship programs, Dumoulin Competition first offered to help in 2016, when it suggested that people sign the trunk of the two brothers’ NASCAR race car in exchange for a donation. And so was born the ‘Race against cancer’ as part of the Grand défoulement à ma façon.
This undertaking would never have been possible without the cooperation of our partners and several other people who support the cause alongside us every year, notably by organizing novel events. While a cancer diagnosis is a staggering blow to the daily lives of the persons directly touched and their loved ones, the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s team is strong and always present to meet their needs. We should all do something to help those who face cancer get through these difficult moments.”
This year, the Dumoulin brothers and Dumoulin Competition are once again putting the pedal to the metal by taking on the role of ambassadors for the fifth edition of La marche du Grand défoulement in Trois-Rivières and striving to rally as many people as possible to this important cause.
