Testimonials

Relive the experiences described in the inspiring stories told by people close to the foundation.

“Taking part in La marche du Grand défoulement was a no-brainer for me. This is an unbelievable opportunity to let loose, to come together and to unite in support of all of the persons who must face cancer every day.”

For a second consecutive year, Sébastien Brunet, director of business development at Ed Brunet et Associés, stepped up to take on the role of ambassador for La marche du Grand défoulement in Gatineau. This one hits close to home for him. His grandfather died from cancer before Sébastien was even born. Greatly affected as a young boy, it seemed natural for Sébastien to support the Foundation’s mission.

I'm saddened to think of the times I could have spent with him, had he not been struck by this terrible disease. Knowing that one out of every two Quebecers will one day be affected by cancer really gives one pause. Having recently become a dad, the whole issue of health - especially that of my loved ones - has become more important than ever. What inspires me about the Foundation is not only its support of persons with cancer but also, the assistance and services it offers to their loved ones and caregivers.”

A devoted philanthropist, Sébastien stepped up to become an ambassador for the Gatineau edition of La marche du Grand défoulement in 2021, simultaneously mobilizing his loved ones and his business network with unparalleled enthusiasm. Having initially set a fundraising target of $37,000 in conjunction with the event, Sébastien ended up handing over a cheque for slightly over $74,000 to the Foundation.

Taking part in La marche du Grand défoulement was a no-brainer for me. I’m a sports enthusiast, as is everyone on my team at work. Getting involved with the Foundation in this way is totally natural for us, and even more so when we consider that some of our collaborators have been directly or indirectly impacted by cancer. This is an unbelievable opportunity to let loose, to come together and to unite in support of all of the persons who must face cancer every day.

This year, Sébastien hopes to beat a few records once again while helping even more Quebecers with cancer benefit from the Foundation’s services.
