Montreal, August 14, 2017 - The Board of Directors of the Quebec Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Marco Décelles as Director General. His appointment is effective today.

Mr. Décelles has nearly fifteen years’ experience in management positions in the health care field, notably with Héma-Québec. His vision and expertise, both at the operational and strategic levels, have contributed to the growth of all the organizations in which he has been involved. The choice of this candidate was the result of a rigorous selection process undertaken by the Board of Directors following the retirement of Ms. Ginette Charest, who had held the position since September 2015. The Board of Directors would like to thank her for her contributions during her term.

Mr. Michel L. Lesage, Chairman of the Board of Directors, wishes to emphasize the management skills of the new CEO: "His professional experience within a major provincially recognized NPO and his commitment are essential assets to this role. We therefore believe that Mr. Décelles will contribute significantly toward making the Foundation THE reference for everyone affected by cancer, in terms of support, guidance and reassurance."

Mr. Décelles says he is ready to promote the unique, essential role of the Quebec Cancer Foundation: "Cancer affects one in two Quebecers, and the Foundation is the leading agency devoted specifically to caring for those affected and their families. It is with great enthusiasm that I embrace this challenge and I shall contribute to strengthening the reputation of the Quebec Cancer Foundation. "
