Over $350,000 raised

Montreal, December 11, 2017 - Autumn was an action-packed season for the Quebec Cancer Foundation. In Gatineau, Quebec City, Montreal, Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke, the Cancerto series raised $350,270 while bringing hope and comfort to so many affected by cancer across Quebec.

Last month’s Cancerto series staged benefit shows across the province that featured a host of personalities, including Marie-Eve Janvier, Jean-François Breau, Gabrielle Shonk, the musicians of the Orchestre du Septième Art, Kim Richardson, and of course, the voice of the Quebec Cancer Foundation, Bruno Pelletier.

Mr. Marco Décelles, Director General of the Quebec Cancer Foundation, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the Cancerto evenings, whether as donors, partners, members of the business and medical community or the Quebec population, for demonstrating their solidarity with those afflicted with cancer. "The announcement of a cancer diagnosis is a serious disruption in a person’s life. The thousands of Quebecers who every year turn to our programs and services to alleviate their daily ordeal receive guidance and comfort from those who support our mission. I am grateful for the significant mobilization effort that has taken place across Quebec this fall. We will continue to offer support, listening and comfort and be like a second family to those dealing with cancer and to their loved ones," Mr. Décelles added.

About Cancerto

Since its launch in 2012, the Cancerto series has generated more than $2,3 million across Quebec. This sum has been used to provide people impacted by cancer with access to programs and services that help them better cope with the disease in their daily lives. Cancerto evenings are held in Sherbrooke, Montreal, Quebec City, Gatineau and Trois-Rivières, with each unique soirée serving as a celebration of life that combines music and magic and brings people together to pay tribute to the courage of those touched by cancer.
