The Quebec Cancer Foundation is joining forces with Bikram Yoga Boucherville to offer yoga classes free of charge to people affected by cancer*.

Bikram Yoga Boucherville, which has been a loyal partner of the Foundation since 2013, is getting involved by organizing an annual benefit event Yoga-concert contre le cancer.

Through this new partnership, the Foundation will extend its financial support to Bikram Yoga Boucherville to permit it to offer yoga classes* to people who have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing treatment. The classes are free and the yoga is adapted to individual capacities.

The Quebec Cancer Foundation and Bikram Yoga Boucherville are united by a common vision: the well-being of those with cancer. This new partnership will permit the Foundation to continue to develop its offer of a yoga service* that is tailored to specific needs.

This year, the 7th edition of Yoga-concert, which took place on June 8, brought together Lulu Hughes, Rick Hughes, Bruno Pelletier, Martin Bachand, Elyzabeth Diaga, MaestaR, Catherine Brodeur, Catherine Maurais and Luce Dufault for a rhythmic yoga class and an outdoor concert. It raised nearly $15,000 that will go directly to the Free Yoga Program for people with cancer.

Since the event first began, the generosity of the participants has raised nearly $68,000 on behalf of the Free yoga program for people with cancer.

* It is important to remember, however, that although the benefits of yoga are numerous for people with cancer, participants should discuss in advance with their health care team to ensure that type of yoga they choose is suited to their situation.
