In the space of a few weeks, the coronavirus has literally made its way into our lives, hitting thousands of people hard and shaking up whole sections of our society.

Given the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and in accordance with the government's recommendations, the Quebec Cancer Foundation is announcing the suspension of its complementary therapies in all of its Regional Centres and in every hospital where it offers its services, until May 1st, 2020.

Because cancer continues to impact so many Quebecers, we are maintaining our accommodation activities for everyone undergoing treatment. Our Info-cancer Services also remain active
.

True to its heartfelt mission of supporting people with cancer, the Foundation wishes to take every preventive measure necessary in order to limit the risks of spreading the virus, particularly among the most vulnerable people who benefit from its services.

More than ever, cancer patients and their loved ones need us. Their cancer is not in quarantine. Let’s continue giving, to ensure that all those dealing with cancer receive the support they need.

The Foundation also calls on its residents, beneficiaries, employees and volunteers to observe the hygiene measures recommended by the public health authorities.

The Quebec Cancer Foundation continues to monitor the situation extremely closely.

Our thoughts go out to all those affected, both here and wherever else they may be.

We are proud to see that Quebec is taking action that is equal to the threat. We are listening to the scientists and taking concerted, enlightened action. The authorities are meeting their responsibilities and are keeping us informed.

We are already seeing a wave of solidarity strengthening our ties to one another. Medical personnel and essential services will need our support. People who are infected or worried will need our reassurance. Parents will need the support of their loved ones and employers to get through this crisis as serenely as possible.

We are able to limit the impact of this virus.
