On September 15, 2016, over 450 guests gathered aboard the AML Louis-Joliet for the Rendez-vous Gentleman, a unique cruise in behalf of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.  The innovative, gentlemen-only fundraising dinner generated $71,000 in support of the men and women affected by cancer and their loved ones.

Co-chaired by Yan Hamel, President and CEO of Croisières AML, and Simon Clément, Partner at Stein Monast, the Rendez-vous Gentleman 2016 was a resounding success. Guests were treated to a variety of activities and delicious food on the three decks of the ship, each with its distinct atmosphere, while cruising on the majestic St. Lawrence River.

“I am extremely proud of this first edition, which brought together men of different generations from all over the greater Quebec City area. I’m also deeply moved to see people with cancer take part in this fundraising cruise and thrilled that they rallied their friends and family to raise money for the cause. These wonderful displays of solidarity are the reason the Foundation can pursue its mission of helping those affected by cancer,” said France Locas, Director of the Quebec City Regional Centre and Info-Cancer Services.

Support from valuable allies

The Foundation would like to extend special thanks to the main partners of the evening for their generosity: Croisières AML, SM Sport, Suzuki, CHOI 98.1 Radio X, Rock 100.9, Le Journal de Québec and TVA. This major event was an instant hit and brought together a ship full of guests in a very short time. More than $350,000 in donations and sponsorships was used to offer the gentlemen philanthropists an awesome experience, including the draw of a motorcycle, compliments of SM Sport and Suzuki.
