Journée mondiale contre le cancer

On June 3, 2017, in exactly one month, celebrities and the general public will gather for the Rapides et pas dangereux fundraising event in support of people with cancer and their loved ones. Emboldened by the success of its first edition, the event, which is part of the Grand défoulement of the Quebec Cancer Foundation, will take place once more at the St-Eustache Autodrome.

Fast but Not Furious is an opportunity for luxury and race car fans and adrenaline junkies to sit in the passenger seat opposite one of their favourite celebrities. A few of the big names behind the wheel will include José Gaudet, Foundation spokesperson Bruno Pelletier, Michel Barrette, Véronique Cloutier, Lise Dion, Philippe Laprise, Louis Morissette and Mario Tessier. The animation will be provided by none other than Richard Turcotte.

“With this event, I wanted to give people the chance to have fun together, while bringing a little sunshine into the lives of those with cancer and their loved ones. I like the practical aspect of the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s service offering. Through its hands-on support, it helps brighten the day of people facing the cancer challenge. So join us! You’ll make friends and support people who need it,” said event organizer José Gaudet.

To wow car lovers even more, event participants will be able to experience a controlled drift in a Formula Drift car with a professional driver.

Rapides et pas dangereux is presented by Iristel under the honorary presidency of Harry Villeneuve, Vice President, Enterprise Sales at Iristel. “My involvement is directly related to personal experience. I’m sure that each of us has been affected by cancer in one way or another. I believe we all have to get involved and give a bit of ourselves to help others better cope with cancer. I’m happy to be doing my part as honorary president of this exciting and one-of-a-kind initiative alongside such generous individuals.”
