In an impressive province-wide corporate campaign, the business community this year raised $1,005,817 on behalf of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
“With your support, we’ve been able to double the number of people we can welcome and lodge in the past two years only,” stated Marco Décelles, General Manager of the Foundation.
The end of the corporate campaign was celebrated on December 7th at Le Salon Richmond 1861 with Cancerto Montréal, an event presented by CN in collaboration with CGI Inc, Marsh, Norton Rose Fulbright and Vézina Assurances Inc.
From October to December, renowned artists performed at the benefit events that were organized, among them Quebec Cancer Foundation spokesperson Guylaine Tanguay, Orchestre du Septième Art, Mario Pelchat, Dan Bigras and Eli Woods.
The Cancerto series of events held in 2021 raised nearly $600,000 across the entire province, $311,080 of that in Montreal, a record amount.

These funds will enable thousands of people rendered more vulnerable by the disease to access services and programs designed to improve their well-being: “The Quebec Cancer Foundation’s personnel as well as its network of nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, massage therapists, kinesiologists and art therapists help raise awareness while also informing, accompanying and lodging people diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones. In my role as a physician, I directly witness the critical impact of this approach and care on patients.” — Dr. Philippe Sauthier, Chairman of the Quebec Cancer Foundation's Board of Directors and Head of the CHUM Obstetrics-Gynecology Department.
