On October 12, the first benefit evening of the Cancerto series was held at Centre Québecor in Sherbrooke. Some 300 guests gathered for this event in support of the Quebec Cancer Foundation. This philanthropic presentation had for major partners Immex Société immobilière and TVA. Nearly $64,000 was raised during the evening, which will enable the Foundation to pursue its commitment to all cancer-stricken Quebecers and their loved ones.
Guests enjoyed a dazzling evening, thanks to the performances of stand-up comedians Stéphane Fallu and Julie Caron, as well as a trip back in time with the greatest hits of the 50’s, as played by the Hit the Road Coverband. This terrific show was preceded by a dinner-cocktail and silent auction featuring various exciting items.
The Quebec Cancer Foundation extends its warmest gratitude to the business and medical community, as well as the residents of the City of Sherbrooke for their show of solidarity. “It is thanks to all those supporters that cancer patients and their loved ones from our region, but also from across Quebec, can receive the services that ensure their daily well-being,” underscored Mrs. Myriam Beaulé, Director of Estrie Regional Centre and Lodge. She also offered her sincere thanks to all the people who contributed to the evening’s success, including ambassadors Véronique Sinclair-Desgagné, Josée Mailloux, Julie Gendreau, Caroline Lesmerises, and Marie-Sophie Demers, as well as Mr. Marcel Gagnon and Mrs. Thèrese Sheffield, patron and guest of honour, respectively. The latter actually expressed how proud they were to contribute to brighten the lives of thousands of individuals affected by cancer.
