The Quebec Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce that Guylaine Tanguay will from now be lending her voice as a volunteer spokesperson. Ms. Tanguay is well aware of the issues and needs of people affected by cancer, since her family, like so many others, has not been spared. As spokesperson, the talented artist will work with the Foundation to provide concrete support to the 56,800 Quebecers diagnosed with cancer each year.

“The Foundation is a treasure in Quebec, a secret that is still too well kept. By becoming a spokesperson for the Quebec Cancer Foundation, I want to let everyone dealing with cancer know that they are not alone, that the Foundation cares, and is there to support them through their ordeal.” Guylaine Tanguay declared.

Some 156 individuals are diagnosed with cancer every day in Quebec, and every day, they have to face the hardships that come with it. Therefore it is essential for Quebecers affected by cancer to know that they can turn to the Foundation and that they will, be welcomed, listened to and accompanied by professionals experienced in oncology.

“Our association with Guylaine Tanguay is quite natural. In the eyes of Quebecers, she embodies the same qualities of humanity and integrity as the Quebec Cancer Foundation itself holds dear.” said Marco Décelles, Director General of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.

Bruno Pelletier has been the Foundation's spokesperson since 2012, and it was with a heavy heart that he stepped down at the end of 2019. When Mr Pelletier, himself a famous Quebec singer, learned that Guylaine Tanguay was interested in becoming spokesperson for the Quebec Cancer Foundation, he was delighted to pass the torch on to her: “I am convinced that her dynamism, kindness and sensitivity make her the ideal person to be the Foundation's new voice and spread its message and its raison d'être.” he declared.
