At the Quebec Cancer Foundation, 2019 was a year marked by innovation on behalf of people affected by the disease.
                                                                                        
With a new shuttle service offered free of charge to patients of the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital in Laval and the Charles-Le Moyne Hospital in Longueuil, its art therapy sessions at the CHUM and the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, yoga in Chibougamau and the CHUM, in-chair massage therapy during chemotherapy treatment in 16 hospitals over a wide area from Montreal to Quebec City, including Granby, Saint-Hyacinthe, Drummondville, Fleurimont, Victoriaville, Sorel, Trois-Rivières, Shawinigan and Lévis, the Foundation has established its position as a leader at the height of its 40-year history.
 
In order to assure itself the means to always go one step further, the Foundation now plans to raise $6.5 million in 2020 for the benefit of those affected by cancer.
 
To achieve this, it knows it can count on its large family of donors and committed partners who year after year demonstrate their unwavering support.
 
As part of its new objective, the Foundation plans to raise $1 million through its corporate campaign, which last year broke records once again by raising over $1.1 million.
 
This year, the Foundation's vision remains to be present throughout Quebec, wherever people dealing with cancer are to be found. By developing new services that meet the needs of people, irrespective of their age or their treatment history, while providing its services to the greatest number, to ensure that no one is left alone with cancer.
 
The Foundation’s constant desire is to look toward the future and maintain its growth in the interest of those who face the disease, all the time aware that one in two Quebecers will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime and that the number of Quebecers affected by cancer is constantly on the increase. These are the reasons why the Foundation is adopting its new and ambitious 2020-2022 Strategic Plan, which is focused on inspiring excellence and surpassing all previous goals. The plan will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
