The Quebec Cancer Foundation has excellent news to announce today: the launch of an online resource directory for people affected by cancer.

The directory, which is intended for the entire Quebec population and healthcare network, lists more than 2,200 resources available throughout the province.

The needs of those affected by cancer and of their loved ones are immense. The Quebec Cancer Foundation, which has been working with these people for 40 years, is well aware of the reality they face and their sometimes limited access to resources in their region.

That is why today it is launching an online version of its directory, which for over 25 years has been steadily accumulating oncology resources, to better enable it to meet the needs of its clients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Because cancer never takes a break.

The directory contains no less than 9 categories of resources, ranging from complementary therapies, breast and hair prostheses, palliative care, home help, transportation or self-help and support. Whether they are looking for a certified oncology yoga teacher in Val-d'Or or home help in La Tuque, anyone dealing with cancer will be able to find contact information for oncology organizations or resource people near their home or place of treatment.

The Foundation's Cancer Information Services are always available to help you with your queries at 1-800-363-0063. The librarians and experienced oncology nurses at Info-cancer Services also offer, free of charge, confidential answers, advice, listening and reassurance to people with cancer and their loved ones.

"The Quebec Cancer Foundation proves once again that it is always a little closer to people by delivering a tool that responds to the concrete needs of those facing cancer, regardless of their history, their region, or their age." said the Quebec Cancer Foundation’s Director General, Marco Décelles.

"Last June, we unveiled our strategic plan for 2020-2022, called Être plus près du monde (Being Closer to the People) in which we reaffirmed our commitment to providing greater accessibility to our services. I think we can say promise kept." he added.

By so doing, the Quebec Cancer Foundation is truly confirming its role as a unifying leader for a cause that affects 1 out of every 2 Quebecers.
