In April, for Cancer Awareness Month, the spotlight is focused on a disease that will affect one in two people at some point in time. This adds up to many men and women whose lives will be turned upside down by cancer. It could be your mother, brother, friend, neighbour or even you. We are all in this together.

This is why I’ve been involved with the Quebec Cancer Foundation for many years as its spokesperson. I am happy and proud of my association with a foundation, which, for the past 35 years, has supported people with cancer and their loved ones by making their daily lives a little easier. Through its information services, psychological support, physical wellness programs and lodging near hospitals, the Foundation helps empower people across Quebec in the face of cancer.

You, too, can make a difference in the lives of thousands of people. Get involved however you wish: make a donation, volunteer your time, organize a fundraising event or participate in the Grand défoulement contre le cancer. Every action counts!

I would like to personally invite you to take part in the Grand défoulement to be held from June 1 to June 30. It’s a major province-wide event where we all get the chance to “vent” against cancer and show them we care. Go to granddefoulement.ca to find out how you, your family and your friends can contribute to the well-being of those affected by cancer.

Join me, and together, let’s give courage and hope to these men and women undergoing difficult times.

Thank you for your support.

Bruno Pelletier
Spokesperson for the Quebec Cancer Foundation
