The painting workshop enables a person with cancer to explore a new way to express his or her emotions. Painting is a diversion which, without tiring the body, entirely absorbs the spirit. The goal is to have fun and to set aside other concerns for a time. Creativity is one key that allows access to a greater inner personal space. It is one way to enter into ourselves in a relaxed manner.

IYou do not need artistic talent or experience. You need only let yourself be guided by the volunteer leading the workshop to explore through colour and form.

Acupuncture treatment is a complementary therapy recognized for its ability to relieve cancer symptoms or the side effects of treatment.

Acupuncture treatment consists of implanting small, sterile, single-use needles into specific sites of the skin. The acupuncturist adapts each intervention to the client's condition at the time of the consultation (type of cancer, treatments, etc.).

The benefits

  • Reducing nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, particularly in breast cancer cases;
  • Reducing stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms and fatigue;
  • Improving overall quality of life.

The workshops of the Look Good Feel Better program help women with cancer to overcome the effects of treatments on their appearance. Using cosmetics and hair alternatives, women can again take charge of their looks, adopt a more positive attitude while facing cancer and feel better about themselves.

Under the direction of a team of volunteers specializing in skin care, participants learn special make-up techniques and hear practical advice on skin and nail care, on the hygienic use of cosmetics and hair alternatives.

Due to COVID-19, all of the face-to-face workshops are currently suspended. The organization Look Good Feel Better offers some online workshops.

This session of relaxation and internalization is a moment for you, a moment which lets each person get away from the day’s noises, take time to recharge their batteries and to focus their energies on improving their well-being.
